The Donkey Dairy came to life in 2012 and was nurtured from a dream of Jesse Christelis and South African stage and screen Actor, Zak Hendrikz, to preserve a rare bloodline of blue eyed spotted donkeys which seem to be endemic to South Africa. The focus on the farm also began to include buying in donkeys from places of misery and rehabilitating them. By May 2019, Jesse and Zak had personally rehabilitated and rehomed over 580 donkeys under their secondary company DONKEYS AND DWARF GOATS SA.

Over the years of working with these incredible animals much time was spent researching the health and beauty benefits of Donkey Milk, the findings were mind blowing from aiding in the treatment of skin ailments such as eczema, psoriasis and acne to being used as an ideal substitute milk for babies with milk allergies. Their herd of much-loved Donkeys was promoted to Dairy Donkeys and they began refining their milking process to produce pristine donkey milk. In early 2016 The Donkey Dairy’s range of Natural skin care products was launched, allowing South Africans to enjoy the health and beauty benefits of Donkey Milk.
