1. Create Custom App & Connect Shopify Store

To connect your Shopify store to Afro Nala, you will need to create a custom app in your Shopify store. No Coding skills are required for this process.
The custom app provides a secure way to allow you to sync your products between Afro Nala and your Shopify store.

1. Go to your Shopify settings and select Apps and sales channels then select Develop apps.

2. On the next screen click the Create an app button.


3. In the pop up window enter the app name as “AfroNalaSync” and App developer to the default value or change to your developer and click Create app.

4. Once the app is created click Configure Admin API scopes, this will ensure that Afro Nala only has access to the data required to sync products. It will only ensure that Afro Nala can only read product data and not write or update your Shopify store data.

5. In the Admin API access scopes page, scroll down to Inventory and check the read_inventory box. This will allow Afro Nala to get the stock levels for your products.


6. Scroll down to Products and check the read_products box, this will allow Afro Nala to only read your product information including products title, description, price, sku, variations etc.


7. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click save to save the admin scopes for the app.

8. click on the API credentials tab to install your app and get the access token.

9. Click the Install app button and then click Install on the pop up.


10. The app has been installed and an access token has been created. Now click on Reveal token once.

12. In your Afro Nala dashboard navigate to Settings -> Shopify API and then enter your full shopify url including https:// and paste the token in the Admin API access token then click connect.

13. You should be presented with the following screen to show that your store is connected.
